Participation at Courage Project Experts Focus Group Relating to Cyber-Crime &Cyber-Terrorism on March 18th, 2015

UINFC2 project participated  at expert focus group relating to cyber-crime & cyber-terrorism that took place on March 18th, 2015 at TNO premises in Delft, Netherlands. Focus group included participants from across sectors ranging from academics, law enforcement, government, legal experts and industry in order to discuss and validate current challenges and priorities in the ongoing fight against CT and CC, towards defining a future research agenda, based on the outputs of the 7 thematic workshops that have been held by the Courage project .

The discussions covered content broadly based around the following interconnected themes:

  • The capability of investigators
  • Cooperation and Information Sharing (public/private and international)
  • Organisational and Societal Resilience
  • Legislative Systems, Policy and Data protection
  • Awareness, training and education
  • Technological evolution


COuRAGE, funded under the EC 7th Framework Programme will produce a research agenda for cybercrime and cyberterrorism (CC/CT) using the expertise of the consortium partners, advisory board members and recruited expert stakeholders.  The purpose of COuRAGE is to significantly improve the security of citizens and critical infrastructures and support crime investigators. The research agenda will identify the major challenges and reveal research gaps for cybercrime and cyberterrorism. And recommend practical research approaches to address these gaps through strategies that are aligned to real-world needs.
